Sensor adaptation and ground compensation tuning are critical procedures that are essential for the AKA Intronik STF metal detector to function properly.

Sensor adaptation is performed once after changing the coil. An exception to this is when an adapted metal detector is taken out into the cold from a warm environment. The device comes with a special test using a ferrite rod.

To adapt the sensor, you need to bring the ferrite rod smoothly to the coil at a distance of 15-20 cm several times. This is enough for the sensor to gather the necessary information for the procedure. Next:

Press and hold the "” button and turn on the metal detector. Wait for the frequency values to appear on the screen, and for the high and low frequency scales to fill up. Bring the ferrite test close to the coil again and wait for the sensor adaptation to complete, which will be indicated by two distinctive clicks. During the adaptation process, it is necessary to keep the coil completely still, as any movement may cause the device to react to surrounding objects. This could lead to a decrease in sensor sensitivity and incorrect target identification in the future.

Each time you go out to a search location, it is important to perform ground compensation before starting operations. For quick access to the ground
